Advancing Offshore Wind Transmission Technology

Author:遠東控股 Published: 2026-06-08 Hits:

On May 27, Far East Submarine Cable officially delivered China’s first 66kV aluminum-core submarine cable during a delivery ceremony held in Rudong, Jiangsu Province.

The cable will be applied in the Huadian Yangjiang Qingzhou VI Offshore Wind Project, currently the farthest offshore wind project under construction in China. Located in the waters south of Hailing Island, Yangjiang, Guangdong Province, the project has a planned installed capacity of 500MW and will deploy 31 offshore wind turbines rated at 16.2MW each.

Key Highlights:

China’s first 66kV aluminum-core submarine cable

Supporting long-distance offshore wind power transmission

Estimated annual clean power generation: 1.6 billion kWh

Contributing to energy transition and carbon reduction goals

This milestone represents another major breakthrough in the R&D and engineering application of key offshore wind power equipment. It also demonstrates Far East Submarine Cable’s continuous innovation capabilities in offshore wind and marine energy infrastructure.

As global offshore wind development accelerates, higher-efficiency and more reliable transmission technologies are becoming increasingly important. Far East Submarine Cable remains committed to driving technological innovation and supporting the global transition toward a greener and more sustainable energy future.
